Application | Surface: Untreated wood, wood-based materials, also on cork to a limited extent. Carefully sand the rough wooden surface. The wood surface must be free of dust and grease, clean, dry and frost-free (max. 15 % wood moisture). It is recommended to prime untreated wood with Le Tonkinois Huiles Bio Impression. The priming oil penetrates deeper and provides good adhesion for the Vernis. Coatings: should always be applied thinly with a roller, brush or paintbrush. For best results, apply only one coating daily. For spraying, dilute with Le Tonkinois Thinner up to a maximum of 5%-10%. For basic sanding, 180 grit is optimal. For intermediate sanding, please use water sandpaper and 240 or 280 grit. Sanding is necessary for purposes of making the straightened wood fibres smooth and avoiding separating layers. Do not apply at temperatures below 12 °C. Drying time: 6 - 8 hours at 20°C and medium humidity; if possible, wait 24 hours before recoating. Low temperatures, high humidity and low air circulation may delay drying and aid odour formation. Ensure good aeration when applying the varnish. Coat the surfaces with great caution at first. Surfaces can be walked on after 3 days with 2-3 coatings or after 7 days if full coating is applied. |
