BADOIT® - French Bubbles of Joy since 1778 -- BADOIT - French Bubbles of Joy since 1778 Badoit is a French mineral water brand from natural springs in Saint-Galmier. The water is naturally carbonated on its journey through granite rocks and underground gas deposits. An exclusive innovation in the premium water segment, high-quality and unique in the German market. This exclusive water is combined with upscale cuisine and wine in top French restaurants. Some also affectionately call it the "gourmet's mineral water". The story: As early as 1778, Richard Marin de Laprade, court physician to Louis XVI, recommended the finely bubbly Badoit for its appetising and curative effects and ennobled it with the title Champagne of waters. In 1838, Auguste Saturnin Badoit, who gave the spring its name, bought the spring in St-Galmier and subsequently marketed the digestive mineral water through pharmacies. By 1858, more than 1.5 million litres of Badoit (7000 bottles per day) were sold. Thanks to its good reputation, Badoit gradually found its way into top international gastronomy. In 1971, Badoit became part of Evian. Today, Badoit is a product and a brand of the Danone Group. Only about 260 million litres are bottled each year. So this is already fundamentally a rare water. In 2019, Danone announced that Badoit would no longer be available in Germany and the UK. As Badoit is a natural mineral water, the company says it is aware of the need to preserve the source and never extract more than nature can provide. In the Saint Galmier region of France, there had been periods of drought in recent years, which had affected the groundwater recharge rate. Danone felt that the responsible approach was to reduce the amount of badoit bottled and sold to protect the source for future generations. This is why our exclusive stock is also strictly limited. The taste: France's number one carbonated water is Badoit. It rises in the picturesque village of St-Galmier on the Loire and is one of the rare mineral waters that already bubbles slightly carbonated from its source. The carbonic acid contained in Badoit is formed by combination and not by compression. Badoit is a very clear water, fresh and fine. The sparkling content of carbonic acid makes Badoit a very pleasant yet intense and unique taste experience. The effervescent small and very fine bubbles give the water a beautiful structure. Badoit is a substantial water, but has a very light taste despite its high mineral content. A positive influence on digestion as well as other beneficial properties are due to the strong, natural content of hydrogen carbonate. Its fine bubbly carbonic acid invigorates the senses and enriches the taste of the finest ingredients, says THIERRY MARX, chef at the Mandarin Oriental Paris. An insider tip of French haute cuisine, Badoit has been an integral part of true savoir vivre from Paris to St Tropez for many years. Badoit does not give nitrate levels, but independent tests have shown less than 5 mg / l. 750ml sparkling glass bottle TDS: 1200 mg / l ph-factor: 6.0 Hardness: 815 mg / l Nitrate: 5 mg / l Calcium: 190 mg / l Magnesium: 85 mg / l Sodium: 150 mg / l Potassium: 10 mg / l Silica: - Bicarbonate: 1300 mg / l Sulphate: 40 mg / l Chloride: 40 mg / l
