Series wound DC motor with carbon brushes This bow thruster model is fitted as standard with a hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor is driven by a hydraulic pump. If a hydraulic pump and associated tank are already installed on board, then in most cases this assembly can also be used to drive the bow thruster. The hydraulic bow thruster can be installed on GRP, steel or aluminium tunnels or used as a stern thruster using the appropriate installation kit.
