The most well known wine from the brand that arguably put New Zealand wine on the map has gotten more restrained and austere over the years. The latest iteration leads with green grass and tomato-leaf characters. The guava and pineapple fruit is less fleshy and more pithy. Waxy and chalky in texture, it is tight and focused, if a little harshly so. There's focused crunchy acidity and a sea-salt character that lingers on the finish.
