Hempel Antifouling Thinner 808

Hempel Thinner 808 Thinner for self-polishing and hard-matrix antifoulings. HEMPEL paints are manufactured and supplied in such a way that no thinner needs to be added. However, if the paint is to be applied thinner (as a "sealer coat") or if the paint has become too viscous, such as during the winter months, the HEMPEL thinner specified in the data sheet may be added to achieve the correct consistency. As a general rule, dilution should always be kept to a minimum, as an excess may adversely affect the painting job. If the application takes place at a high temperature (of air and steel), the dilution can be increased beyond that indicated in the data sheet in order to avoid dry-spray and a poor paint film. HEMPEL thinners are a mixture that ensures maximum applicability with a brush, optimises spraying etc. In some cases they can be replaced by ordinary thinners. If the latter are used, HEMPEL accepts no responsibility for the end result. In any case, the product data sheet or application instructions must always be consulted.
