HIGH CHIRP angle 0/12/20° CPT - S adhesive transducer - for Element and Axiom Raymarine Interior (or through - emission) sensors are glued directly into the hull. They are only used on fiberglass hulls. Inboard transducer models will not fit wood, aluminum or steel hulls, or foam hulls that have air pockets. Any wood, metal or foam reinforcement must be removed from the inside of the hull. With an interior transducer, the signal is sent and received through the hull of the boat. There is therefore a considerable loss in sonar performance. In other words, you won't be able to see as deeply or detect fish as accurately as with a through - hull transducer, or as a transom - mounted or through - hull model. Fiberglass hulls are often reinforced in places for added strength. These main areas contain balsa or structural foam, which are poor sound conductors. the probe should be located where fiberglass is strong and where; there are no air bubbles trapped in the resin. You also need to make sure that there is no coring, buoyancy material, or air space sandwiched between the inner layer and the outer layer of the hull. The CPT - S provides high resolution sonar imaging in a small, inexpensive package. Thanks to its simple design, the CPT - S is easy to install, while offering excellent high - speed performance.
