The support must have a surface cohesion of at least 1 MPa. The substrate must be clean, sound, and have undergone an appropriate surface preparation to remove all non- or poorly adherent parts. In particular, it must be free of traces of oil, grease, laitance, curing products and any substance likely to impair adhesion. The area to be repaired must be delimited by a sharp edge: in particular, avoid whistling edges in order to limit the risk of shrinkage at the mortar/support interface.
