SIKA Sikagard-706 Thixo Hydrophobic Impregnator - 18 kg - White, is used as a hydrophobic impregnator for concrete support in civil engineering or building structures subject to heavy stresses due to freeze-thaw cycles, de-icing salts, chloride attack in marine environment. Advantages : Firm consistency (thixotropic) allowing sufficient application without loss and ensuring deep penetration. Reduction of water absorption from the substrate Reduced absorption of aggressive agents dissolved in water (e.g. de-icing salt, chlorides in marine environment) Does not significantly change the water vapour permeability of the treated substrate. Concrete cracks larger than 300 microns in width must be pre-treated before applying the water repellent treatment. Cleaning by light sandblasting, by steam jet, by cleaning with pressurized water. Best penetration results are obtained on dry and absorbent substrates. The substrate must have a dry surface appearance and be free of locally wet areas.
