Batch of 12 sprayable polyurethane foams - SIKA Boom XL Gun Multiposition - 500ml - White, This product is used to fill and caulk voids. Excellent adhesion. Advantages : Good adhesion on concrete, cement mortar, cement fibers, terracotta, plaster, tile, wood. Other substrates: preliminary tests Good elastic recovery Limits the forces transmitted to the supports Thermal and acoustic insulation Extrudes upside down after vigorous agitation. Propellant gas not harmful to the ozone layer Features : Chemical base: One-component polyurethane foam Colour : White Density: 15 4 kg / m3 approx. (free expansion polymerised foam) Shelf life: 12 months Packaging : Batch of 12 sprayable polyurethane foams Tips : Methods of application : Before applying the foam, protect the supports with a removable masking tape and the floor from any burrs. General information : Shake Sika Boom - Xl Gun aerosol well for a minimum of 20 seconds before use. Shake again after long interruptions in use. Moisten by spraying tap water onto the substrates and between layers of extruded foam. Fill the cavities with approx. 30 % of the total volume, as excess foam expansion can lead to overflow and possible soiling. Apply in layers up to 30 mm thick. The consistency of the foam is suitable for filling vertical joints up to 5 cm wide. Cavities or joints wider than 5 cm must be filled in successive layers applied over the previous fully cured ones. After polymerisation, cut the foam with a cutter if necessary. In the case of exterior joinery, make an exterior cladding with 10 mm thick cement mortar and then apply a joint sealant from the Sika range on a Sika Joint Filler of suitable cross-section to achieve air and water tightness. All building components must be fixed temporarily until the foam has fully cured. Final strength is achieved after complete curing. Can be painted after 24 hours drying at + 20C: preliminary test. Can be plastered after 24 hours drying at +20C with a cement or plaster mortar. Spray application: Screw the aerosol adapter onto the gun adapter. Extract the foam by pressing the gun trigger. The amount of extruded foam can be adjusted by squeezing the trigger more or less or by screwing or unscrewing the gun trigger. Fill deep joints in several layers. Do not fill cavities completely as the foam expands during curing. Do not unscrew or remove an unemptied aerosol can from the gun. Never leave an emptied aerosol can on a gun so that the foam does not harden in the gun. Immediately after removing an empty spray gun, screw in a new spray can or clean the gun thoroughly with Sika Boom Cleaner to prevent damage to the gun (refer to Sika Boom Cleaner instructions). Tool cleaning: Uncured foam: acetone or Sika Boom Cleaner. Cured foam: mechanical abrasion. Limitations: Do not use in enclosed areas. Ventilate application area. Do not expose aerosol to sunlight, heat or temperatures above + 50 C: risk of explosion. Do not bring extruded foam into contact with acetone or Sika Boom Cleaner as this will alter its expansion and polymerisation. Sika Boom - XL GUN is not suitable: on silicone substrates, for waterproof caulking and on submerged and ground substrates, in contact with products containing light oils, plasticizers or anti-oxidants: bitumen, pitch, asphalt, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Teflon, silicone, oils, greases, release agents, etc.? The service constraints must not exceed the resistance of the foam. The Sika Boom - XL GUN is only suitable as a supplement to mechanical fixing. The foam degrades on the surface when exposed to UV light and water for long periods of time. Protect the cured foam with suitable paint or mortar.
