Conical joints, reducing the width of the joints to less than 2 mm, could degrade the strength and durability of the joints. APPLICATION : Sprinkle Sika FastFix-131 polymer sand in small amounts on the pavers. Avoid sprinkling all at once over too large an area. Sweep the polymer sand into the joints with a broom. Make sure that each joint is completely filled. Carefully sweep away excess polymer sand. Compact the joints well using a vibrating plate compactor or simply using a wooden board and a hammer. Spray water over the joints to saturation using a garden hose (set to spray) or a watering can with its head. Do not use pressurized water. Make sure that the joints are completely saturated with water. Rinse off any excess polymer sand remaining on the surface of the pavers. After 1 to 2 hours, the joints are strong enough to walk carefully on the paving stones, but it is preferable to wait until the joints are completely dry before moving freely.
