SIKA Sikaflex Crystal Clear Multi-Purpose Sealant - Clear - 300ml is a multipurpose sealant and sealant for completely transparent caulking joints. Advantages: 100% transparent Easy application and smoothing Low shrinkage during curing Particularly suitable for improving the layout of the house Can be applied on wet concrete Excellent adhesion on many common substrates used in construction Characteristics: Density: 1,05 kg / l approx. Skin formation time: approx. 30 minutes (23 C / 50% RH) Polymerization rate: 3 mm / 24 hours approx. (23 C / 50% RH) Application temperature: +5 C to +40 C, at 3 C minimum above dew point Colors: Transparent Packaging: Comes in original packaging Advice: SUPPORT The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles. Sikaflex Crystal Clear adheres without primer or activator. However, to obtain optimal adhesion and high performance applications such as renovation work, high-pressure joints and seals that are highly exposed to the weather or immersed in water, primers and degreasers and surface preparations APPLICATION Install the cartridge in a manual, pneumatic or electric gun. For ease of use, the adhesive sealant should be at a temperature of + 20 C approx. For proper curing of the adhesive sealant, a humid environment is necessary. Grouting After the necessary preparation of the supports, install in the joint a Sika JOINT FIT of adapted section, to the required depth. If necessary, apply a Sika primer. Install a cartridge into a putty gun and extrude the Sikaflex Crystal Clear into the seal and press it onto the seal lips making sure they are in good contact with them and avoid any air bubbles. Sikaflex Crystal Clear should be tightly squeezed against the joint lips to provide good adhesion. It is recommended to use protective tapes on the supports if sharp and straight edge joints are required. Do not use a smoothing agent containing solvents. Bonding After substrate preparation, apply Sikaflex Crystal Clear in spots or cords on the bonding surface a few centimeters apart. Press the element to be glued to the right place by hand only. If necessary, use a double-sided SikaTack Panel Tape adhesive during the first hours of polymerization. A poorly positioned element can be easily removed and repositioned during the first few minutes of application. Press again. Effective bonding will be achieved after complete polymerization of Sikaflex Crystal Clear. The recommended thickness of the adhesive layer depends on the regularity of the substrate and must be less than or equal to 3 mm. Uncured, persistent, unpolymerized glue on a surface should be removed immediately. Final strength will be obtained after complete polymerization of Sikaflex Crystal Clear.
