The flatness of the support must comply with the requirements of the relevant DTU 52.2 or CTP. The substrate is prepared in such a way as to be clean, sound, free of dust and loose parts that are not adherent or that could impair adhesion. The support is moistened beforehand if necessary (application on a very absorbent support or one that has been exposed to the sun, in hot weather). The substrate must not be damp and must be free of any film or puddle on the surface during application. Spread the adhesive mortar on the substrate using a trowel or smoothing machine, then adjust the thickness with a notched spatula (choice of teeth according to the size of the covering and the flatness of the substrate; (see product instructions). In the case of double gluing, coat the back of the element to be glued with a thin layer of adhesive mortar (1 to 2 mm). Within the limit of the open time, lay the covering on the glued substrate and press it strongly or beat it so as to expel the air and obtain a good transfer of the adhesive mortar. Clean the coating with a damp sponge as soon as it is laid. For finishing, use SikaCeram Joint Fine, Wide or Flex joints.
