Vietti is an Italian winery located in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. Founded in 1873, the winery is now run by the fourth generation of the Vietti family. Vietti produces a range of wines, including the Barolo DOCG from the Ravera vineyard. The Ravera vineyard is located in the commune of Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo region. The vineyard is planted with Nebbiolo grapes, which are the traditional variety used to make Barolo. The soil is composed of calcareous marl and sandstone, which gives the wines a unique character. Vietti's Barolo DOCG from the Ravera vineyard is a full-bodied, complex wine with aromas of red fruits, spices, and leather. On the palate, the wine has a rich texture and flavors of ripe cherries, plums, and licorice. The tannins are firm and well-integrated, and the finish is long and persistent. This Barolo is a classic example of the region's wines, and it is best enjoyed with food.
