Zenato is an Italian winery located in the Valpolicella region of Veneto. Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato, the winery has grown to become one of the most respected producers of Amarone della Valpolicella. The Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is a full-bodied red wine made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. The grapes are dried for several months before being fermented and aged in oak barrels for up to three years. The result is a complex and intense wine with aromas of dark fruit, spices, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is rich and velvety, with flavors of blackberry, cherry, and chocolate. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of sweet spice. This Amarone is a perfect accompaniment to hearty dishes such as game, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
